Product Care

Fine jewellery is crafted to endure, but thoughtful care ensures it remains as radiant as the day it was made. Each piece from Maison Éclat is accompanied by specific care instructions; the guidance below offers general principles for preserving your collection.

Daily Wear

Jewellery should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you remove. Apply cosmetics, perfume, and hairspray before wearing your pieces to avoid chemical exposure.

Remove jewellery before bathing, swimming, exercising, or sleeping. Chlorine, saltwater, and perspiration can dull metals and damage gemstones over time.

Avoid contact with household cleaning products, which may contain abrasives or chemicals harmful to precious metals and stones.

Cleaning

Gold & Platinum:

Clean gently with warm water and a soft brush. Dry thoroughly with a lint-free cloth. For pieces with intricate settings, we recommend professional cleaning every 12 months.

Diamonds & Precious Stones:

Diamonds may be cleaned with warm soapy water and a soft brush. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners for emeralds, opals, and pearls, as these stones require gentler care.

Pearls:

Wipe pearls with a soft, damp cloth after each wear to remove oils and residue. Never submerge pearl jewellery in water or use chemical cleaners. Store separately to prevent scratching.

Storage

Store each piece separately in a soft pouch or lined jewellery box to prevent scratching. Avoid storing multiple pieces together, particularly diamonds, which can scratch other gemstones and metals.

Keep jewellery in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity. Prolonged exposure to heat and moisture can affect certain gemstones and weaken settings.

Professional Maintenance

We recommend an annual inspection to check settings, clasps, and overall condition. This service is complimentary for all Maison Éclat pieces and includes professional cleaning and minor adjustments.
